About Us
Our Story
After being introduced to avocado ice cream on a trip to Vietnam, I just had to find a similar option in the United States. It was so creamy and delicious and so much healthier for you than all the other ice creams. And with all the focus we put on eating right and staying active in our family, this was a perfect treat option for our family. But much to our surprise nothing like this existed in the US.
So me and my 2 boys (Preston and Talmage, ages 16 and 14) set out to make up our own recipe that we could enjoy. It took us over 2 months and several dozen concoctions but we finally landed on one that was even better than what I had in Vietnam. Plus, it only had 5 fresh ingredients with Avocados being the #1 ingredient. We decided to name it Avogelato and shared it with several of our friends and extended family members. They loved it sooo much that we decided to create a business out of it and try to sell it to the public.
We have started small with Farmer’s Markets only so far. But we sell out every time we go to one and people seem to love it as much as we do! So we’ll see where this takes us but for now it’s been a fun business to work on with my boys and to share our Avogelato with other health nuts who love ice cream too.
What We’re Making
We only have one flavor for now, which we simply call Avogelato but we sell toppings (Oreo crumbs, crushed dates, and toasted coconut) that people can add on top and we are playing around with a chocolate flavor that we may introduce soon as well. The whole thing is super simple with just 5 fresh ingredients and avocados being the main one. That’s what makes it so creamy and good for you at the same time.
The toppings really let people customize it how they want it. Some people love the Oreo crumbs for that crunch, others go for the crushed dates when they want something naturally sweet, and the toasted coconut adds this amazing flavor that goes perfectly with the avocado. It’s been really fun seeing what combinations people come up with!
Where to Find Us
Right now you can find us at farmer’s markets around the area. We’re still pretty new at this whole thing but it’s been incredible how much people love Avogelato. Seriously, we sell out every single time we set up at a market! It’s been such a fun experience getting to meet people and watch their faces when they try it for the first time.
